City & Culture
Frankfort is known as the "Gem City" and is also well known for its rail history - hence the name Nickel Plate. Our vibrant and diverse community offers original sculptures and works of art all within walking distance. The downtown square is home to a variety of small businesses, including restaurants, florists, a day spa, a furniture store, a bank and much more.
- Those looking for local eats will find them downtown within walking distance from the Nickel Plate Flats. You can choose between The Main Street Pub & Eatery or the Indiana pizza classic - Arni's! Johnny V's Sports Pub is just around the corner from Pepe's Mexican restaurant. Also, don't forget about the Downtown Diner! All your wants, oustide your doorstep.
Frankfort has a number of lively venues with theatre and live music. Visit the Red Barn Theatre in its 49th season of entertaining residents and visitors alike. Theater lovers can enjoy six exciting weeks of live professional theatre presented every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
We are excited to be apart of Frankie's Coffee Shop and Cafe. Located on the corner of N Jackson and Clinton Street, Iron Men Properties will be remodeling this space to house the urban coffee shop and loft apartments above. This space will be a place you can have meetings, study and meet with your friends! Opening in the Spring of 2018!
